Safe, Unsafe, and Unwanted: SkoolBag Preschool

On 30th May 2019, Team Pratsandhi in collaborated with SkoolBag PreSchool, Noida to undertake a workshop on “Safe and Unsafe Touch”.

The workshop covered a wide array of subjects ranging from personal space to understanding the correct names for our body parts. Students between the ages of six and ten years understood not just on how to identify but also respond to unsafe and unwanted touches.

In addition to this, the workshop focused on teaching students how to identify their body parts and to differentiate between private and non-private. Various activities also enabled students to understand that every individual has their own comfort zone and privacy which need to be respected along with the importance of consent. In addition to this, students created their own safety network sheets to identify situations and people that made them feel secure. Students were encouraged to practice shouting “NO” when they felt uncomfortable and to become assertive when doing the same.

Students were encouraged to ask questions and clarify their doubts.
